Arlington Lodge Waterford's premier boutique hotel located in the heart of this historic Viking city. Built in 1760 and long intertwined with the history of Waterford, Arlington Lodge has once again returned to a Waterford family, who now share with you its unique charm and sophistication that embodies the best of Irish country house hospitality.
Purchased by Maurice Keller in 1997 and after three years of careful restoration, it provides all the amenities with superb accommodation and fine Irish country cooking.
Local seasonal produce is a priority at Arlington Lodge where we hope you will find a relaxed atmosphere that will draw you back time and time again.
The house was originally the residence of the Paul family, prominent merchants in the city; it later became the seat of the Roman Catholic Bishops of Waterford & Lismore and remained in the church for over 200 years. It is reputed that Robert Paul married a Catholic which was not fashionable in those years; he eventually immigrated to America and bequeathed the house to the Catholic Church on his departure. The church built a seminary on the grounds which still adjoin the property today.
